7,000 terracotta warriors - China’s most instantly recognizable architectural vestiges – await you in Xi An, and, with Tiger Holidays’s affordable tickets, this could be your next destination. There are places that advertise, boast their charms, and try to attract tourists. Xi An is not one of those – it’s simply a must see destination on everybody’s list. You have to check out these sites at least once in your lifetime, though you’ll probably want to come back for more – and, with Tiger Holidays’s special offers, you can return to Xi An every time you want, without breaking your vacation budget.

What to Do in Xi An

Unless you’re on a work or study trip to Xi An for several months, you will have to prioritize your activities here, as there’s so much to do and see, it’s impossible to fit everything in one single vacation.

  • The Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses: Ever since the terracotta warriors were unearthed, back in the 1970s, they became some of the world’s most recognizable figures. Even if you’ve seen them pictured all over the place, rest assured that the real thing will blow your mind away. The sheer size of the tomb is amazing, and, watching how much is still going on, you’ll realize it’s worth coming back here in five or ten years, to see the new additions.
  • Xi An City Wall: Rent a bike and cycle along the world’s oldest city wall, now restored to its former majesty. You have to return at night time, when the entire structure is lit up for a most impressive effect.
  • Giant Wild Goose Pagoda: One of the best known shapes in the Asian world, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda was first built in 652 (just take a moment and think how long ago that is), although it got its distinctive seven stories about 50 years later. It leans a bit to the West, and you can climb on top of it to enjoy a view of modern Xi An.
  • The Muslim District: You are now so much on the Silk Road, you can picture the caravans and the trade going on all around you. The Muslims have left a very distinct imprint on the city, and the Muslim community is still thriving today. The Great Mosque is not open to tourists (but it’s impressive on the outside as well), but a much smaller, charming mosque will transport you hundreds of years back as soon as you step inside.

With Tiger Holidays’s special offers, Xi An can be your destination for this year’s vacation.

What to Eat in Xi An

So much history on an empty stomach may be upsetting, so don’t forget to try Xi An’s signature dish, Yang Rou Pao Mo (mutton soup with bread). Noodle dishes (Biang Biang Mian) and dumplings (Xiao long bao-zi) are available everywhere, for extremely reasonable prices. The Muslim Quarter is a safe place where you can enjoy various snacks sold by street vendors, especially in the evening.

Over 70 emperors ruled China from Xi An, part of no less than 13 dynasties. This is one destination you simply must reach, so don’t postpone any more, check out Tiger Holidays’s special offers and start packing today
